A global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

Marked annually on March 8th, International Women’s Day (IWD) International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. As the national gender machinery, the Directorate of Gender Affairs uses IWD to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about women’s equality, and lobby for national gender parity across the public and private sectors through a range of events and activities.
